Doctor Francis Ojukwu Professional Medicine Corporation ("Doctor Fran", "we", "us", "our") operates the Doctor Fran mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes how Doctor Fran collects, uses, stores, discloses, and protects your information when you use the App. By creating an account and using the App, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described here.
Doctor Fran currently operates in Ontario, Canada. This Policy governs Doctor Fran's management of your information. It does not govern the information practices of Authorized Physicians, who are independent contractors subject to their own applicable privacy and professional obligations.
When you create an account, we collect your first and last name, email address, date of birth, province of residence, and phone number. When you request a consultation, we collect information you provide in connection with that request, which may include your reason for the consultation, health card number, health profile information such as allergies and current medications, and any documents or images you upload.
We collect anonymised usage data through PostHog, hosted on servers within the European Union. This data does not include your name, email, or any clinical information. You may opt out of analytics data collection at any time in the App's settings.
Where you request that a prescription be sent to a pharmacy, Doctor Fran will share the relevant prescription information with your chosen pharmacy solely for the purpose of fulfilling that prescription. No other clinical information is disclosed to pharmacies.
Doctor Fran does not sell your Personal Information or PHI to any third party. We disclose your information only to Authorized Physicians for the purpose of delivering Healthcare Services; to your chosen pharmacy solely for prescription fulfilment; to third-party service providers including AWS, Supabase, PostHog, and Resend, who are contractually required to use your information only as necessary; where required by Applicable Law; and in the event of a merger or acquisition, subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations.
With your consent at registration, we may send you email communications about new features or services. You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any such email or by contacting us at [email protected].
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and for such additional period as required by Applicable Law. If you close your account, we will provide a reasonable period during which you may download or print your health records before secure deletion. To request account closure or deletion, contact us at [email protected].
We implement encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls on a need-to-know basis, regular security assessments, and staff training on privacy obligations. Data is stored within Canada where possible.
The App is not intended for use by individuals under 18 without the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. If you are registering on behalf of a minor, you represent that you are the minor's parent or legal guardian and consent to the collection and use of the minor's information as described in this Policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at doctorfran.com/privacy. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the App.
