Doctor Fran was built on a simple belief: the gap between a patient and a physician should be minutes, not days — and having no OHIP coverage shouldn't mean having no doctor. We're an Ontario-based telemedicine platform connecting patients with licensed Ontario physicians — quickly, privately, and without leaving home.
More than a million people in Ontario live without OHIP coverage: international students, visitors staying with family, newcomers in the three-month OHIP waiting period, work permit holders, and people whose health cards have expired. Many more have OHIP but no family doctor. Doctor Fran exists for all of them. The doctor behind Doctor Fran
Dr. Francis Ojukwu
Founder & Family Physician, Ontario
Dr. Francis Ojukwu is a licensed family physician based in Ontario who built Doctor Fran after observing a gap in healthcare delivery he believed technology could close. He saw patients — especially those without OHIP coverage or a family doctor — waiting days or weeks for appointments they could have had in minutes, and decided to do something about it. Doctor Fran is the result of that conviction.
